virtual Capstan

I'd like to chime in on this one, even tho I'm not much into touch-weight
knowledge. It seems to me, if the magnet were put on the other side of the
capstan, it would get closer in the stroke of the key. Thereby increasing
the "repulsion" and speeding up the repetition. Or am I missing something
here?
