Hello Brian and list
I daren't tell you when I started my apprenticeship - but  a few decades
later, just after you took your exams, I started a nice relationship with
Glyndebourne (another Professional Organization) which is still very much an
on-going thing. I also started my eldest daughter in the business - but she
was afraid (here we go again!) of
the noise of breaking Bass strings. Now she's married with two children and
plays the 'cello (like me)

which spells horror for next Summer)
