There’s about a seven foot Behning in Terre Haute here, old as the hills,
severely cracked soundboard, and it has an incredibly powerful tone. Only
played it once. Beautiful sound.

11th Edition of Pierce says this name was used by Behning Piano Co.
According to the serial number list under Behning, it dates to 1923. But it
also says to use the Kohler & Campbell serial numbers for grands, which
would make that 1905!

Anyone know anything about Behning and Sons out of New York? I got called
into do a rebuild estimate and I was surprised by what I thought was going
to be a potential junk yard sentencing. It's a 5'3" grand with a
Wessel,Nickel &Gross action serial # 52336. Nothing in Pierce. I would
appreciate any knowledge. Thanks.
