Setting pitch with a fork

Of course, in the absence of a pitch fork (of the non agricultural =
variety) one could always use the dialling tone from a telephone. But =
then I wouldn't know how to hold a dialling tone between my teeth!

I should imagine though that holding a pitch fork between your teeth is =
going to "lower the tone" as the hot air expands the metal.
