Tuning fork and reverse well

Richard,

The thing that anoys me with this method is that they start with A3. A
former student from Western Ontario University also told me this was
the way he was thaught. From all my years in PTG, A4 is the one that
should be 440, not A3. By using A3, they are tuning the second partial
of A3 to the fork and then if you strech A4 (let's say 4-2), you end
up with A4 being sharper than 440.

I've had this discussion with Takeda-san, but with the language
difficulties and the fact that one SHOULD NEVER question an instructor
at the Academy ( I only found out too late), I don't think he got my
point.

I know for sure that there is only A4 that the piano's pitch should be
set to.

I sure hope I'm not wrong on this one.
