Rippen Grand comments?

I have a Rippen grand, purchased new about 30 years ago.  Overall I've
been happy with it.  It is unusual in that it doesn't have a case as such
but is instead a large aluminum casting which sort of appears to "float"
on its normal 3 legs.

Trying to learn more about this instrument, anyone on PTG that has
experience with these?   Are they good or bad?
