Greetings to everyone on the list.I have a couple of questions for
general comment
   1.I have seen a Staib-Abendschein action before,but I may be
called upon soon to work on one,and I'm wondering if there is
anything I should know before starting. The action in question is
badly out of reg.in the usual manner for an old upright(2 1/2
blow,1/2 dip,3/4 letoff,?? checking)and I'm hoping that getting it
back in the ballpark spec-wise will do the trick.Any suggestions
would be helpful.
2.There is a local tooner who is in the habit of using WD-40 on
action centers.I have followed this guy's work pretty often, and
I'm seeing a lot of "gummed up" actions,I presume from the
WD-40(customers tell me it gets sprayed pretty indiscriminately).I
have gotten some relief with Pro-tek and a heat gun,but I wonder
what the long term effect will be.As you may have guessed,I'm
gathering ammunition. At the risk of opening the floodgates,I'm
hoping to hear from anyone with info. or experience on the subject.
                     Thanks,
                         Alan Heneberry
