This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hello, whoever you are, My favorite work bench was an old sink base cabinet (with drawers and = cupboards on each end and I got for free!) to which I attached a piece = of countertop material (it was not free!)--the nice wide (or deep) kind = used for breakfast bars (no upwards splash on one side). The top was = wide and deep, the cabinet was good for storage and I placed it so I = could walk around it, though if you don't have the room to do that, = casters (with locks) could be attached to move it around. One of many = possibilities. To get around space shortages, instead of attaching power tools = (grinders, small drill press, small table saw, etc) on stands, I = attached them to pieces of plywood with a 2x2 screwed to the underside, = so I could clamp them into my Black & Decker Work-Mate (clamping work = bench) as I needed them (I have the biggest model--I've only seen = smaller ones advertised lately). I might add, that I'm not a = rebuilder--just do small time shop stuff. I also have a table top made = of plywood with molding around the edge (I put a bit of finish on it to = seal it) that I take out on the job and clamp it into the Work-Mate or = set it on top of Steel Horse folding saw horses. =20 Barbara Richmond, RPT somewhere near Peoria, IL ----- Original Message -----=20 From: pianotuning@instrumentalinks.com=20 To: pianotech@ptg.org=20 Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2004 11:06 PM Subject: Work Bench-Action Cradles Hi,=20 I am a relatively new tech trying to obtain some items for a work area = in my home. Can anyone recommend a good, solid work table? Would a = folding table do the trick? Does anyone have a photo or plans for one = they might have built?
