Hi Michiel,
I just sent Calin some CA. As he lives in Romania, he may be able to =
give you an idea of what it is refered to over there. CA glue is clear =
as water in color but dyes that have no water can be mixed. As I only =
use it on tuning pins, bridge pins, birds eyes and stripped screw holes =
I have not found a need to mix any color agent with the glue yet.
Yes the shelf life is short, But, there one can use up the glue on other =
projects and save the very freshest for tuning pins and bridge pins.
The CA that one can get in the tube is not usable on tuning pins or =
bridge pins. That would equate to the thich CA.

Hello Liszt and Joe & Penny
This thread about tightening wrest pins using CA glue is a very =
interesting one. The problem is I have absolutely no idea what CA glue =
is. Maybe in UK we have an equivalent. So... Could someone please =
describe this glue... What colour is it? ... what consistency? ... what =
smell does it have?... Is it water-based and therefore thinned with =
water before use?... how large are the containers it comes in? .... is =
it a resin glue? ... is it something like PVA woodworking glue? (which =
stuff can be thinned down with water in a bucket to "size" concrete =
before laying wood-block flooring..:-) Is it another name for that =
terrible glue called "Cyano-Acrylate" as used in the plastics industry =
and can glue your fingers to your nose (or other parts of the anatomy). =
With the same initials this is my guess. It is this very "thin" glue =
which comes in quite small white plastic bottles with a dispensing =
nozzle and has a limited "shelf-life".
Question: If you had an old (1895) S&S model "B" 85 note grand with =
replaced tapered legs and loose Bass tuning pins... would you be tempted =
to go the CA route?
I have just such a problem at the moment but I rather think I prefer =
the replacement strings and pins option on an S&S of that age.
Regards from the black cold Sussex Downlands
