Heintzman Grands of recent production

Hi Terry,
There are three holes drilled through the pressure bar, (probably wrong
terminology), that act as an agraffe, for the strings. This creates
additional friction, and the string kind of hangs up. There is also a felt
covered wooden piece the strings pass over, creating more friction.
In a restring, these holes can be cleaned out, and the strings are more
free.
They tune sort of like the Steinway uprights that everyone hates.
Nice sounding pianos though.
