I have a customer who owns an 1880 Broadwood Grand and is considering having it undergo a complete restoration--possibly donating it to a museum, possibly for her own enjoyment. It is in original condition. Generally, what is the approach with such instruments. Does the original design beg for some reengineering? Or can a satisfactory instrument be made by adhering strictly to the original design and structure? David Love davidlovepianos@earthlink.net
