Hi Clyde, I can not confirm but I do know from trying, that the Yamaha string is almost impossible for me to tie a knot in. They do use a very sharp square swedge that I think causes the core wire to break. Every time I have tried it has always broken. I have often wondered how long the swedge was so as to know if there was a posibility of removing a lot of winding to get below the swedge. But then the wrap would surely come loose So I have not taken the time to find out.
