drop screw question

Asuming it is not related to some other regulation problem (like weak repetition springs), you could always add material to the top fo the balancier under the drop screw, a thin piece of leather, perhaps. I suspect that the hammers are very worn, have had several filings and that you have had to raise the let-off buttons to accomodate which has forced a similar raise in the drop screw. Maybe it's time to replace the hammers???

Subject: drop screw question

Trying to regulate a piano where, in some cases,
the drop screws are all the way up and there's
still too much drop. Only on a handful of notes,
though most are very close to the top end of
their adjustable range.

Suggestions?
