Hey perhaps pushing the spring farther around the coil would do the trick. I will try that next time. That did not occur to me while trying to go the other way with the spring ---trying to relax the coil not bend it farther around. D.L. This must be done by depressing the top of the spring downwards, often until it almost touches the whippen itself. Doing this tightens the coil and should not distort the spring, at all.
