Conrad: I've not seen any hydrolic benches, though I have heard that they exist and came from Kimbaldörfer. Steigerman Bench World has some Italian made benches that are built on the gas tube that is so common in office chairs. I bought one of them for a faculty member for her studio and she really likes it. I just checked at http://www.benchworld.com and couldn't find that bench, but you might call them and see if they still carry it. The have benches from 3 countries (that I'm aware of). We did buy some adjustable benches that were made in China. They were cheap, functional and not sturdily made. Soft metal construction. I haven't tried any of their Korean made ones, but the Italian ones are quite nice. I have an Italian adjustable bench here at home and I like it. dave ============================================================ From: Conrad Hoffsommer <hoffsoco@martin.luther.edu> Date: 2004/05/17 Mon PM 01:55:33 CDT To: pianotech@ptg.org Subject: hydraulic adjustable benches Folks, perusing the archives didn't seem to do me any guud. Where would be the current source of hydraulic type benches. The only ones we have here are (getting to be old) Kimbaldörfer. As they have become the bench of choice, they have also gained battle wounds and jealousy.
