Attached are two photos of a jig for routing out a new slot.  It's made out
of the scrap of an underlever tray and a couple segments of those dividers
from Renner.  Its designed to slide over a router holding a small end mill
corresponding to the width of the knuckle core.  You can use it also with a
dremel table though you have to secure the dremel well enough that the
mount doesn't flex.  More of a no brainer than the band saw technique.
