I imagine that the rates are equal to, if not better, than most rates that individuals can get through any other insurance company. But I'm always interested in saving money..... How was the Kawai training. I'm on the list to go from Seattle, but as I don't do any store tunings, I'm not a priority. Don M. keeps telling me I'm still on the list. jeannie Jeannie Grassi, RPT Assistant Editor, Piano Technicians Journal <mailto:jcgrassi@earthlink.net> mailto:jcgrassi@earthlink.net _____ From: pianotech-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Avery Todd Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2005 1:00 AM To: Pianotech Subject: RE: Safeco business insurance Thanks, Jeannie. I thought that the insurance was through Safeco/PTG. I was hoping someone would chime in with "something". I use Safeco for my vehicle insurance and have never had a problem. However, .......... I called the first insurer I could think of, my car insurer, which is State Farm. They quoted me a price that is less than half of what Safeco is offering. It sounded good on the phone, but I will wait until I see a copy of the contract and compare the coverage they offer with Safeco before I make a firm decision. State Farm has been really good for me. They've given me-the-spot coverage and ready phone assistance when needed. And my rates didn't go up even after I filed a rather large claim (and I don't even know what they paid out to the guy I ran into........:-(). In fact, my rates have subsequently decreased. I'll keep y'all posted on any pertinent info! Has anybody else encountered something like this? Don Bee, Sr., RPT Chicago Chapter My rates have gone up a bit, too. I find it curious, and it got me wondering: how many people have actually filed claims with Safeco? Anybody on this list? I, for one, have never filed a claim. I have it for the same reason I have medical insurance: catastrophic occurence! Of course, if I were to cancel my policy, I'd have a Fazioli action fall off of my workbench...:-) I may be mistaken, but it seems as though the rate increase is due to whatever restructuring or sale took place when the Potter, Leonard name went away. Dave Stahl Dave - I've been with Safeco for years now and have never filed a claim (knock on you-know-what). Thinking seriously about not renewing.
