I use burnt shellac exclusively for gluing felt or leather to metal. =
Freshly made burnt shellac will dry within a very short time. Buy the =
flakes and add a small amount of alcohol to make a thick, dripless =
solution. It can be kept in an old white-glue (!) bottle.
