I'm with you ... I was just pointing out the hypocrasy, illustrating absurdity with absurdity, as it were. They keep rigid control of the population, allow now system improvements, etc., and it's ALL politics--which they get away with by keeping people fearful.

Just because they are crooks why should I be? I can’t see the morality in stealing money from my neighbors to fund my retirement. Demanding the government take care of us at any age or for any purpose (schooling, medical, etc) is a self conscious acknowledgement of our own slavery and incompetence. At least that is my opinion.

I have retirement income envy. I changed jobs so much as a younger person and have been self employed for so many years and not having been a very good money-saver, it appears I will be tuning pianos 'til the day I shuffle off this mortal coil ...

Younger folk, learn from my story: Save, invest. And, for my 2 cents worth, pray for a more fair Social Security system. In fact, get ahold of your congresspersons and DEMAND the same retirement plan THEY get! THEY aren't paying into SS. Heck no, they have the sweetheart deal of all time. ..... But they want you locked into the current mess. Figgures.

For those who are on SS and still working, did you take it at 62 or 65 or what? I don't know how to figure out which is the better way to go.

Hi Rick,
I am fortunate to be on the dole from the state due to retirement, so I only call when I need a few more in an area. I would hate to have to support a family on piano income only. Two or three a day is plenty to keep my banger thumb tender <G> and my pocket full only takes 6 a week. At times it is still a full day of 8. then rest for a week.

Hi Folks,

This has been one tough summer to book tunings here in the northeast. Is anyone else running into a hard time out there?
How do some of you handle objections without sounding like an Amway salesman?
Have any of you tried the prepaid discount tuning package some techs are offering?
Thanks,
Rick Ucci / Ucci Piano
