Dear Mr. Avery, Mr. Ross, et all.
Ridiculing people for being clean is crude, and
says nothing good about yourselves.
Besides making pianos sound and play as well as I
can, I like to make them look and smell as clean, if
possible, as the day they left the factory.
There is nothing wrong with that. It is
commendable.
Additionally, as a professional performer, I can
tell you that it is much harder to get into a
"reverie" conducive to beautiful music if you have
greasy, smelly, slimy crap on your fingers, of
mysterious origin, left there by the last user.
As I would not hand a person a Kleenex(TM) I had
just sneezed into, neither will I sell them a piano
with black scum on the sides of the keys. It is simple
decency.
A concept you should perhaps acquaint yourself
with.
