Keytop Botched Job?

Mai, oui, monsieur!

But alcohol, like wallpaper remover, soap, etc., makes a dandy
surfactant—makes the water wetter, as it were, by reducing surface
tension—so it penetrates better.

I don't know how much it helps with a rubbery-surfaced material like cured
PVC-E but it sure helps, as we know, in removing old felt, dissolving old
glue joints, and penetrating tightly-woven felt, e.g., center bushings.
