This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Terry, First I'm no computer geek.=20 I did like PTBiz on several platforms, one being the work order for each = customer. The other using that as an invoice. But I have my own invoices, so that feature doesn't do anything for my = way of doing business. As far as directions, information for the day, etc, I print out the = day's work schedule on an 8x 11 sheet and that gets put on a suctioned = cup mini clipboard which hangs on my windshield. Everything for that is = at a glance. Then as a backup I have the Pocket PC for any further = information. As far as directions, T&C has a nice feature where you can assign blocks = for directions, phone numbers, email, etc. I always assign for = directions, then simply cut and paste onto the scheduled time. And as far as printing up invoices, which I like the idea very much, I'm = looking into an portable printer which can accept a beam from the pocket = pc and print invoices. I still convinced more and more that T&C has got it right...keep it = simple and extremely flexible. After 2 yrs of doing basic tweaking in, = I have nice functioning system which, so far, has been incredibly fun to = work with. With that feature, once I make an appointment (which I can = remember to do), the program will keep track of that appointment through = creating the invoice and having the invoice paid. If I had to do that = all on my own, I would have failed at this business a long time ago! If the bare-bones T&C program doesn't do these things, but your = tweaked version does, are you in the business of customizing for other = techs? I used to be pretty good with computers (DOS days), but I've drifted = so far away from tweaking anything computer related - I just want to = plug it in and have the darn thing work. Is there any hope? Terry Farrell ----- Original Message -----=20 Do yourself a favor and go directly to Time & Chaos. You won't pay a = fortune for some out-dated software. You'll get a tech service that is = out of this world. You'll get one of the most flexible and most = use-friendly programs out there. And for less than $100. It also syncs = with the Palm devices. www.chaossoftware.com=20 I've tweaked my program for the last 3 yrs and finally have running = smoothly and effectively.=20 Oh...and I'm a recovering PTBIZ user.
