Pull nose hairs? Never used the one I purchased more than twice.
It sat in my kit for years
Never did like the impact sound of it.
I do use a similar mute made of rubber, it's a split thing that is =
teathered with Spider Wire to a stubby rubber mute on a spit for tuning =
bass notes.
Only once in 15 years have the reined mutes popped out and dropped into =
the dark voluminous shadows of an upright. Usually One of the mutes will =
catch on the action parts and hold the other so that both can be rescued =
before the plunge

Hello List and Wayne who was resourceful enough to use his Papps wedge =
as a pair of tweezers. Right on, I've frequently had to resort to that =
so we're on the same wavelength. In fact it's when the Papps wedge =
itself falls into the action I resort to using my spare one for that =
same purpose. You get these "shootist" pianos that shoot the Papps out =
at you...
  Q. What to do with the broken Papps wedges?
  A. Two things spring to mind:
  1. Wait until you have two broken Papps wedges where there are two =
complementary halves which are OK and make up one useful one
  2. Use them in the greenhouse as a mini dibber pricking out for =
seedlings.... (I have one in my greenhouse!)
  Any other suggestions?

    Hello all,
Got in the shop early this morning and read most of the posting from =
Thursday to present. I left the shop for my first tuning customer. While =
tuning the piano I drop a rubber mute into the action between the =
hammers and dampers. Having remember all of the posting regarding Papps =
mute I thought you may interested that I use my, as tweezers to =
retrieved my rubber mutes when I drop them into the action.=20
