Ugh. I hate sitting on those benches. Seems like when I was selling a lot of used pianos that I had some success with spraying a little more lacquer on the top from a touch up spray can. I am not a refinisher, and confirmation or correction of these thoughts is welcome. Thank You Dave Renaud Dave and List: The finish on the bench is the same finish that's on the piano. That has been lacquer for 50 years (that's a guess). Lacquer eventually breaks down when repeatedly exposed to water and solvents-the one found in cleaner s and polishes i.e. petroleum distillates. The temporary "fix" is another coat of polish. Paul C _______________________________________________ pianotech list info: https://www.moypiano.com/resources/#archives
