Yes, I'd be interested. I need to send you one of
those Knabe rocker capstans to see if you have any of
them also lying around your "playpen", so I'll send
you a few $$$ for copying costs, and postage.
What I'm wondering here is this: my shanks have
the wooden plats, not the lovely "thumbtacks", which
are ( allegedly, and logically ) from the later
models. Sooooooooooo, could the brass plaque screwed
into the side of the rosewood case claiming this thing
is from 1886 be wrong, must it be older than that?
Does anyone know when the transition to the wooden
plats to the "thumbtacks" was made ???? I do know one
thing, though: it was made because it allowed hammer
height adjustment, and because the woden plats wear.
Several of mine are distorted, andc will need filling
with epoxy, and lubrication.
    Happy day!
