VERDIGRIS IS COPPER CORROSION, GRRRRRRRRRR!

Thump,
The same pins are used in other pianos besides Steinway and never have
verdigris.  I was told years ago that the pins were dipped in mutton tallow
or something and that triggered the corrosion, or maybe the bushings were
soaked in something before being installed in the flanges.  It's kind of
like VooDoo.  I don't think anybody knows for sure.  Calm yourself.  Life
is too short! :-)
