For "paraffin" read "kerosene" - something I've just been told about and which, on the telling, I remembered from my Canadian days. But that's interesting - dipped in kerosene. I know organ builders always (used to) dip screws in tallow before using them. Likewise they rub tallow on both sides of the saw before use. Back to centre pins. Are we "pro" or "con" the use of "Protek CLP" on stiff centres? Please debate. Michael G.
