Here are a few pics of a solution to installing a new bolt and clamping.

First, draw the back together (as much as possible) with lots of good =
strong clamps. I bent several of the pipes in the picture below (not =
proud of that, but just to point out that you often need to really crank =
down on clamps to draw a piano back together). I also let string tension =
down prior to clamping.

Clamp at the back posts, not on the filler blocks. Use two clamps if =
more power is needed. Use clamps to draw the back together. Bolts to =
hold it there. I use epoxy in the gap - but like Ron N. said, I'm not =
sure how much that will really do because you are not bonding two =
properly prepared wooden surfaces together - you are bonding to old glue =
that has already demonstrated its ability to fail.

I removed two interferring tuning pins and drilled and bolted (after =
clamping, of course).

Replaced tuning pins - nice clean installation.

Some folks have stated that there is no need to let string tension down =
prior to clamping and some say you must. I say its better to and largely =
depends on the size of the separation. I did a Baldwin Hamilton that had =
a 3/4-inch separation. I let string tension down three semi-tones. After =
clamping, epoxying, and bolting, the darn thing was nearly up to A440. =
No doubt a separation that you can just barely sneak a business card =
into could be handled without dropping pitch (especially if the crack is =
down at the bass end). I don't drop string tension to make it easier to =
pull the back together, but rather so I don't pop all the strings!
