   Yup .........Loch-n- stich.
 I have had the same identical break on two  identical  webers.  The open 
face block is the problem Unless the block &  surounding frame is seated well so 
it's un stressed then the same condition will  still be present even if 
repaired. So it must be re- seated without stress  properly.

So what  did you do? Looks like Lock-N-Stitch might be the way to go.
