Joel, Thanks for passing on this information. Guess it's time to write our senators. John Formsma _____ From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Joel A. John, Mark, & List, I emailed PTG and the attached is the reply comment on your health insurance questions. The House evidently thinks it is a good idea, but the Senate is not yet ready. Perhaps a contact with our local Senators would be worth our time. Reply-To: Barbara at ptg.org Joel, There has been no notable progress in getting the senate to pass the legislation necessary to offer health care that crosses state lines for groups such as associations. I've watched the AHP bills for several years. The House has passed several versions of the same bill but Senate holds them up every time. They seem to get stuck in committee and never make it to the floor for a vote. I'll keep watching and report any new developments as they come along. Feel free to share this information as you see fit. Barb From: Joel A. Barb, In case you don't have enough administration duties the addition of health insurance would be welcomed by these techs. :-) Just thought I would add this to your Monday Musings. Keep in Tune. Reply-To: Pianotech List <pianotech at ptg.org> I was wondering this as well. I don't really know how group insurance works. I'm assuming it's cheaper to the employee because 1) there are more people paying premiums which reduces the risk to the insurance company 2) the employer/corporation pays part of the premium as an incentive to working there. Anyone know if about this, or if group insurance is feasible for PTG members?
