Joe, Avery, You guys are certainly entitled to your opinions, and I respect that. It's an entirely amoral situation. Now if we could just convince our suppliers not to sell to every "idiot" without first checking qualifications.. ;-) If I hadn't sold it to the afore-mentioned fellow, he would have ordered something from someone - probably Schaff (where I get my universals, incidentally). The deed would have been done either way. I had the part, helped him out, doubled my money, and re-ordered on my next routine order. I just don't see it as a big deal, but if you do, that's cool by me. No worries! :-) Regards, John Formsma _____ From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Avery Sent: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 8:36 PM To: joegarrett at earthlink.net; Pianotech List Subject: Re: String replacement....is Why sell to idiots?<G> Thanks, Joe. Yes, I've ticked off a few, but I just won't be a party to "do-it-yourself" piano work or "schlock" types, screwing up my beloved pianos, in my area. The same goes for selling "tuning kits" to the general public, etc. It just isn't a good idea, unless you can have some "control" over the situation, IMO. This sort of thing gives us ALL a "black eye". Just my 1/2 cents worth of opinion. (That's all I've got left after filling up my automobile!) Avery, Why not? I'm not responsible for how he uses them, and there's nothing irreversible - no harm done. I charged retail just like I would if any Joe Blow wanted a string. :-) John Formsma -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [ <mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org> mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Avery Sent: Tuesday, April 25, 2006 4:19 PM To: Pianotech List Subject: RE: String Replacement Well, John.
