Mic the strings to be sure that the your #14 is their #14. The metric sizes may be 1/2 size different. Just for fun I ran the numbers to find some astonishing results. ie. Note 82 is at 75% break point with 220 lb of tension, Inharmonicity is 7.6. The scale starts at 14 with .5 changes every 6 unisons. The tension remains around the 200 lb range for most of the piano. Highest is 225 (#64) to 136 in the low tenor. This is amazing to me. Is this a normal range? I thought tensions were usually 170 or so. Anybody have any info that will put my mind at ease? Joel Joel Jones, RPT Madison, WI
