Weird ringing - HELP!!

To increase the damper lever tension you slip out of slot and pull down towards where the strings would be...action out of the piano...
Question how would one measure that damper tension if I wanted them to be even?   I can guess a hook attached to a Corex device pulling back on the spring?  What is a general spring tension on damper springs?

          I retentioned the by slightly bending the curved part of the spring in it's middle, now I see that was the wrong place to do it, however the tension did increase and the dampers glued in and positioned nicely. The piano now has musch improved damper quality.

It isn't clear to me what you mean by "messaged" - perhaps you did it the proper way...... :-)
