Hi David Think of it this way. You have two panels. The first one you just bend. Thats what you have below. The second one you squeeze together so that the whole panel is already compressed. Then while keeping it comressed, you bend it. In the second case, the top cells will try to stretch out from their already pre-compressed state alright.. but whether they stretch enough to actually become tensioned relative to the panels natural state at its ambient RH is another matter.
