Yeah, but whereas I can easily understand how the vinegar works its way into 
a hammer/shank joint, my question revolves around how the heck would it 
penetrate all the way across a foot-wide glue joint.

Exactly where do you apply it, etc.?

Or is it kinda like (from Joe Dirt) "Well how does a 4:11 posi-traction 
rear-end work? - It just does!"
