And in most consoles the tuning pins are packed in so tightly around the
existing holes that you have to grind off half the head of a carriage bolt
to make it fit.  I use 5/16 stove bolts (flat head, slotted, countersunk),
available  in boxes of 100 from boltdepot.com .
