Terry, I've had some experience with Detoa actions through Bohemia/Rieger-Kloss pianos. They work quite will, though I've run into a few pianos that have had more than their share of tight hammer flanges. But I have no complaint with them overall. It is certainly not a grand action if it is a Petrof 125 !!! The company DETOA Albrechtice s.r.o. , manufactures aswell as piano actions and parts, wooden toys! quite cool toys I must say :) Detoa is a Czech company and was previously called "TOFA" (short for Toy Factory). Petrofs and other eastern European pianos used to incorporate these actions. www.detoa.cz Detoa parts are very cheap (for instance a set of upright piano hammer butts, with plates, complete with flanges, springs, tapes, etc. costs around 69 EUR) Damper assemblies, or damper heads (felt already glued to wood) are very cheap too. Detoa actions work fine. Many modern Petrof 125's have Detoa Actions with Renner Hammers, and I think I've also seen a 125 with a complete Renner action...? Hmm... or perhaps I dreamt it!! As for finding a good technician in London... well, you could always visit the P.T.A.'s site: www.pianotuner.org.uk Sort of the equivalent of an RPT PTG tooner.
