What size shoes are those and do they have to New Balance....;-] Perhaps they help from falling over...

Subject: Piano-Free Soundboard Loading

An interesting and informative thing to do with new soundboards is to apply a load to them and see what happens (generally trying to simulate a load similar to when the piano will be strung). The ideal way is to screw/clamp the soundboard into the rim and apply reasonably spaced pressure to the bridge either with wedges between the bridge and the plate or with go bars.

But sometimes you might build a soundboard, but not have the piano in your shop.

So.........

I choose to NOT share with you the REALLY embarrassing picture I have of when we applied a slightly larger load (and no, the soundboard did not break!).

I thought this would be fun enough.
