David - Are you aware of what Ron Nossaman is doing with some of his S&S 
backactions? The S&S B he had at Rochester had the sostenuto rod mounted on 
the belly rail - you know - like a piano. Don't know how that might relate 
to your specific problem here, but maybe something to think about.

Sure looked like the kitty's tushy to me!
