Agraffes in uprights

I've yet to find anything close to a quantifiable difference in uprights
between those with aggraffes, and those with pressure bars with regard
to falsebeats myself. I dont see how the tone would be affected either
way... at least with regard to clarity.

The mass issue brought up by one of the respondents might be an issue
here... tho perhaps its less a concern in an upright.

Petrofs are a great example of an upright with good tone that uses
agraffes all the way up. False beating on these pianos is sometimes
just plain horrible... but nearly completely related to bridge issues IME.

I'd like to hear more of Franks reasoning for not liking them in uprights.

Cheers

I've *never* found false beating to be the fault of the V
    mound and pressure bar. JMHO2
