Inferior, but available." Mark, These are easily made, using leather ala Steinway/Chickering or felt ala M&H and a whole lot of others. If you check closely you will see something that looks like a balance rail punching in the center. Drill the appropriate size/shape of indentation in a block of wood lay appropiate felt over indentation, put a bit of hide glue on and lay the "core" punching, (make the proper size using Arch Punches). Then simply lay a thick board over the whole thing and clamp the hell out of it!<G> Wait for the glue to dry. Remove the clamps/block and felt punching. Trim and insert. There may be different sizes for the lid as opposed to the fall board, etc. Hence make the dimple in the wood a different size. Get it? Pretty simple once you've done a few.
