I would recommend to use self-adhesive leather-suede strips available from
Kawai,they come in 3 colors,they fit Kawai's,Young Changs and Yamaha.I had
used them on a few old American piano music racks.. Once I saw  on one
church piano a strip of self-adhesive  grey abrasive material used for
stairs and bathtubs It worked! A church handy man-volunteer put it on and it
served the purpose well.. Hope it helps.. Isaac
