Several things you can check, but the first thing I'd check is the disk. Is it a Yamaha disk? The Disklavier system won't play 3rd party software as far as I know. I've had clients have similar problems, only to find out they never tried to see if it would play other disks - so what appeared to be a hardware problem eventually turned out to be a software compatibility issue.
