I believe the Hallet-Davis is made by the Beijing Piano Co. as one of their several stencil pianos. According to Joe Swenson, tech rep at Geneva International, the Nordiska is made in a seperate manufacturing facility on the Beijing Piano "campus", and recently benefitting from lots of input from Geneva International in the area of quality control, improved scale design, etc. It's a very good thing your dealer friend is doing right by the customer, and I hope the manufacturer will be interested in fixing the quality control problems in the factory, not the customer's home.
