Amazing Race

MessageHello list:
I too, saw the program. I was amazed that the people playing Chopin didn't "cringe" in horrified disbelief that the note was such a "busy" mess-- far from in tune!

Obviously, no one would tune for a symphony orchestra with notes like that! O.K.-- reality check concluded, I am promptly donning some bizarre semblance of a 'flame-proof' suit here. Still figueing out what to do with a BAD (Bad little monster) Brambach grand, and mulling through whether or not to rebuild a 1920's Baldwin upright (yes, a real one!).

Ugh, don't we ever get a break from it all???
Wouldn't trade it for a million dollars-
Happily poor, but rebuilding some 'kick-butt' pianos!

Yeah, I saw that too. I was cracking up- it's SOOO easy to tune a piano.HAH! What a hoot.. The guy giving the okay was pretty lenient, too. Pity the poor guy who had to replace those strings. I wonder if the tuning pins got loose from all that restringing.

Did anyone on the list watch The Amazing Race last night. The contestants were in Warsaw Poland as part of the game they had to find a single string on a unison left flat and tune it on a grand . Once this was done a someone would play a little Chopin and determine if the tuning was okay for them to proceed. About 3 or 4 strings got broken during this segment by different contestants. The tuner replacing the strings didn't seem very happy towards the end.
