    I have done exactly as you propose, and it worked perfectly.  You just need to spray the back side of the suede.  I'd be wary of spraying the music desk ( unless you mask it carefully ).  Don't wait too long to place the suede, lest the glue become too dry to adhere.  Using the spray eliminates the lumps, as you get when you brush on the liquid stuff.  Don't worry about placement, the spray adhesive will be forgiving enough to allow some movement.  Worked for me.

The suede on the music desk of a Kawai KG-1 has finally peeled off (or the choir director quit his attempts at repair).  Bill at Jansen & Son, Inc. told me he can, and now is, sending me a new piece cut to size.   My plan is to use 3M Spray Adhesive-industrial strength.  I have successfully used this glue in the past for various jobs including veneer replacement in small areas.  This is my first repair with this glue on leather to poly.  I intend to remove any remaining crud/leather that is on the desk, lightly sand the area with 220, carefully clean off any suspected contamination, and apply the adhesive to the desk and the leather.  The directions call for assembly while the parts are still wet to get a permanent repair.  I’m I heading for trouble?
