recording experiment

Hi Andrew,
I have thought about buying one of these machines and you are the first  
person I have heard of who has one.
The advertising does not appear to state anything about editing.  Is  there 
any facility for re-takes?  Does it take a re-recordable disk?   Have you 
experimented with mike positioning other than under the  soundboard?  Is there a 
minimum distance for the mikes?  Will it take  other mikes?
Any more info would be very useful.
