Back in my day, we used to hold the sustain pedal and jam on the left 
pedal until all the hammers were thrown to the strings, making a 
satisfying "piano slamming to the ground after being pushed out of a 
twelfth story window" sound.  One time we did that until the pedal 
dropped to the floor, whoops!
We did this because the fall boards were locked, and we would have been 
satisfied playing the piano in the normal manner...  only thing left 
unlocked that made sound were the pedals...
