Not to open up a can of worms...ok, maybe so. The current PTG written exam has a question regarding the function of bridle tapes and (in the new test)holding the action together is NOT one of the choices. If the action needs work that requires removal, then I add an hour and a half to the job for the tapes (so I can re-install the action - that's all they're for, anyhow). That time is just for the tape replacement, there's other money in the job to get the action out of the piano and into the cradle in my shop. BTW, it's no coincidence that the G Labor Guide lists the job at 1.5 hours. Mike
