Greetings list, The Pleyel under recent discussion was restored at Period Piano in Kent, by David Winston, one of my current employers (part-time) here in the UK. The Chopin connection hadn't yet been made when he was doing the restoration, of course. And alas, typically, the owner neglected to mention David's work to the Times journalist when he was interviewed. Yet another case of the the technician/restorer as "unseen artist". David is a very affable guy, and would probably respond helpfully to questions anyone might have regarding the instrument from the technical point of view: periodpiano at btopenworld.com periodpiano.com Sincerely, Allen Wright, RPT London, UK
